You don’t have to have sailed to Hobart, you don’t have to own a boat, all you need is the wish to get out on the water and join an inclusive community of women and men who enjoy sailing – and we can help from there.

And if you are a boat owner, find out just why the Amateurs is the place to moor, sail and maintain your yacht with outstanding harbour access and discount rates for the club’s slipway and shipwright services.

Sign up for our crew concierge, using one of 3 free sail passes, or a 12 month Sail Pass that gives you race day access to the club and NSW Sporting Injury Insurance.

Join as Crew

As a Crew member you are looking to go racing on a regular basis and will have access to the club and its facilities whenever open.

Join as a Full Member

As a Full Member you are a boat owner, or someone committed to being a part of the club for the long term. You will enjoy member discounts on slipway services and facilities, unrestricted access to club facilities and full voting rights.

How to become a member?

Full Membership – Whether you own a boat, are looking to buy one, or whether you want to commit fully the club and have a vote in its future, Full Membership gives unrestricted access to all club facilities, member only rates on slipping, and shipwright services and access to club moorings when available.

Associate Membership – as the partner of a Full Member you can enjoy all Full Member rights other than voting at meetings for a discounted rate.

Crew Membership – once you’ve found a boat become part of the club on and off the water, join the social events, have access to the club during opening hours and be a part of the Amateurs community.

Sail Pass – Sailing is a competitive sport and there can be risks. A Sail Pass registers you with a YA number and provides Sports NSW insurance – there is no charge for the first three races, with the option of then buying individual passes or a season pass.

Signing onto the Crew Concierge can be your first stepping stone to the club. Register on line and we’ll look for the right opportunity get you sailing, matching your level of experience with the right skipper.

SailPass –                        $12 – Day Pass,  $175, Season Pass

Crew Membership –     $357 p.a.

Full Membership –        $770 Joining Fee, $825 p.a.

Youth Membership –    $100 p.a.

Locker Space Allocation

Members are requested to have their vessel name clearly identified.

All items left in the lockers are left at the owner’s risk.

To cancel your booked locker space, you will need to provide 4 weeks’ notice by email to office@sasc.com.au.

Dinghy Space Application

Members are requested to have their boat name clearly identified on their dinghy.

To cancel your booked dinghy space, you will need to provide 4 weeks’ notice by email to office@sasc.com.au.
