Bob Brown Race – 2nd April 2026

The annual Bob Brown Race to Pittwater will be held on Thursday 2nd April 2026.

Entry is open to yachts with AS Category 5+ compliance and meet TfNSW Open Water Requirements – enter via this link: https://app.sailsys.com.au/club/6/entry/series/4765/pricing 

The program is as follows:

Thursday 2nd April – Bob Brown Race.

Tender Service – Mosman Bay – The SASC tender will operate from 9am on Thursday 2nd April. 

  • Start line will be between Kareela and a laid Orange Mark adjacent to Watsons Bay – please allow time to arrive at the start line before 12 noon.
  • Contact for start boat – VHF 73, 0419 625 883 – make contact of intention to race and for number of POB.
  • The race finishes in Pittwater, with a raft up in Coasters’ Retreat and a Brunch/BBQ and Prizegiving at the Basin picnic ground on Good Friday 3rd April. 
  • Finish Line for 2026 will be in the Basin/Coasters Retreat – see Sailing Instructions for details.
  • If you are not racing and would like to follow the fleet to Pittwater or join the raft up and BBQ at The Basin you would be very welcome.   

Friday 3rd April (Good Friday) 

Tender Service – The Basin (Coasters Retreat): There will be a tender service in Coasters Retreat / The Basin from 9.30am to take people ashore for the Brunch / BBQ. The Tender Service will finish at 3.30pm.

  • Brunch / BBQ: The BBQ / Brunch will be at The Basin Picnic Area. We propose to have the prizegiving at 10.30am to allow boats to returning to Sydney to get underway.
  • Electric BBQ’s are available. Boats are to provide their own catering. We will try to occupy an undercover seating area. Park fees will be paid by SASC.

Locker Space Allocation

Members are requested to have their vessel name clearly identified.

All items left in the lockers are left at the owner’s risk.

To cancel your booked locker space, you will need to provide 4 weeks’ notice by email to office@sasc.com.au.

Dinghy Space Application

Members are requested to have their boat name clearly identified on their dinghy.

To cancel your booked dinghy space, you will need to provide 4 weeks’ notice by email to office@sasc.com.au.
