Bob Brown Race – 2nd April 2026

The 2026 Bob Brown Race and Raft Up  

The annual SASC Bob Brown Race will be held on Thursday 2nd April with a 12:00 noon start time. 

Start is by Kareela in the vicinity of Watsons Bay.

All members are invited to join the race which finishes with a raft up in Coasters’ Retreat and a BBQ and Prizegiving at the Basin picnic ground on Good Friday 3rd April. 

Yachts entering the race will need a Cat 5+ Equipment Audit.  

If you are not racing and would like to follow the fleet to Pittwater or join the raft up and BBQ at The Basin you would be very welcome.   

Thursday 2nd April 

  • Tender Service – Mosman Bay

The SASC tender will operate from 9am on Thursday 2nd April. 

Start line is adjacent to Watsons Bay so allow time to arrive at the start line before 12 noon. 

Note: There is a new Finish Line for 2026 – see Sailing Instructions for details

Friday 3rd April (Good Friday) 

  • Tender Service – The Basin Coasters Retreat: 

There will be a tender service in Coasters Retreat / The Basin from 8.30am to take people ashore for the BBQ. The Tender Service will finish at 3.30pm. Tender Contact number is TBA for pickup. 

  • BBQ: 

The BBQ will be at The Basin Picnic Area. Electric BBQ’s are available. Boats are to provide their own catering. We will try to occupy an undercover seating area. Park fees will be paid by SASC.

Locker Space Allocation

Members are requested to have their vessel name clearly identified.

All items left in the lockers are left at the owner’s risk.

To cancel your booked locker space, you will need to provide 4 weeks’ notice by email to office@sasc.com.au.

Dinghy Space Application

Members are requested to have their boat name clearly identified on their dinghy.

To cancel your booked dinghy space, you will need to provide 4 weeks’ notice by email to office@sasc.com.au.
